Tadelakt


Tadelakt is originaly from Morocco and more precisely from the town of Marrakech. The use of Tadelakt was current in the hammams and the basins where it was used for its sealing. Its use was rather functional that decorative or aesthetic.

Tadelakt had almost disappeared from Morocco with the arrival of cement, the tiling and the plastic. The appearance of these new materials easy and ready for employment has completely transformed the Morrocans traditional architecture and craft industry. Zellige


Zellige is an element of the Moroccan architecture which appeared since the XII th century, it is a technique which makes it possible to manufacture geometrical mosaics by assembling pieces of ceramics which will be then bound by cement.

The zellige is a material made containing clay coming from the town of Fès mixed with water. This mixture enables us to obtain a homogeneous and malleable paste which is then run in wooden moulds that we let dry several hours under the sun... Know more




Plaster


The plaster is carried out from the gypsum, sedimentary rock called stone with plaster that we findsin form of alabaster or of selenite crystals. The stone is generally extracted from mines or of underground careers then cooked between 120 and 400° C following the uses, it is then broken, crushed and ground to give the white powder of the plaster. Wrough-iron


The wrought iron term is applied to the works of ironwork carried out with the hammer on the anvil. The work of ironwork includes the forging mill, hammering, the welding, torsion, the painting and the patina of iron. Metal is worked hot with coal or gas; fire or water being employed to modify the ductility of metal.

The wrought iron is the very pure iron shape intended for the trade, it is characterized by a low carbon content, it is hard, malleable and can be easily mixed with other metals... Know more


Wood


Wood is a material appreciated for its mechanical properties (mechanics is the branch of science which studies the movement of the material systems and their deformations, in relation to the forces which cause or modify this movement or these deformations). He is also appreciated for his calorific value.

Marble


The marble is a metamorphic rock derived from limestone, existing in a great diversity of colour, being able to present veins or marblings. These veins and colours are generally due to inclusions of metallic oxides. Certain types of marbles bear particular names, for example the cipolin or the morello cherry. The word marble comes from the Arab word marmar where the marmoreal adjective, of marble.
